45th Annual OGKN National Karate Championships Showcase Karate Talent in Windhoek
The 45th Annual Okinawa Goju-Ryu Karate Namibia National Karate Championships brought together 115 competition entries from athletes aged 6 to 67 years in Windhoek on 1 August 2026. The event celebrated outstanding performances, long-service milestones and the crowning of four Grand Champions, while showcasing the skill, dedication and spirit that continue to strengthen traditional Goju-Ryu Karate in Namibia.
OGKN June Gradings Celebrate Growth, Dedication, and New Black Belts
117 karateka, ranging from 8 to 68 years old and from white to black belt level, participated in the Okinawa Goju-Ryu Karate Namibia June Gradings held on 12–13 June 2026. The event marked an important milestone for many students, with Ono Akweenda and Peuee Kavekatora successfully earning their Shodan Black Belts.
OGKN Athletes Bring Home Six Bronze Medals from UFAK Region South Championships
OGKN proudly congratulates the five athletes who represented Namibia at the 23rd UFAK Region South Children’s, Juniors and Seniors Karate Championship 2026 in Luanda, Angola. Competing from 14–17 May 2026, all five athletes earned Bronze medals in their respective divisions, with an additional Bronze in the Senior Male Team Kumite event. Their achievements reflect the hard work, dedication, and spirit of Namibian karate on the regional stage.
