100 Kata Challenge 2025 – Celebrating Okinawan Karate Day
On Saturday, 11 October 2025, Okinawan Goju-Ryu Karate Namibia proudly hosted the annual 100 Kata Challenge at the German Shepherd Dog Club in Olympia, Windhoek. This international event is held each year in celebration of Okinawan Karate Day and has been part of our Namibian karate tradition since 2014.

OGKN National Championships 2025
The 44th OGKN National Karate Championships were held on 20 September 2025 at the Sport Facilitation Centre in Windhoek. A total of 115 entries were received from the Honbu and Shinto Dojos, with competitors taking part across kata, kumite, and team kata and family team kata events.

OGKN celebrates historic beginners intake and new black belts!
This past weekend marked a significant milestone for Okinawan Goju-Ryu Karate Namibia (OGKN) as the National Gradings were successfully hosted on the 6th and 7th of June.
Over the course of two intensive days, 123 dedicated karateka stepped onto the dojo floor to test their spirit, technique, and perseverance in pursuit of their next grade.
