From the 10-11th of March Okinawan Goju-Ryu Karate Namibia (OGKN) hosted the 2023 International Gasshuku with Sensei Bakkies Laubscher, 9th Dan (9th Black Belt) with more than 59 years of karate training and the Vice-Chief Instructor of the Traditional Okinawan Goju-Ryu Karate Federation (TOGKF).

Sensei Bakkies oversees the action during the under 12 children’s session on Friday!

The Gasshuku, which in the past was always an annual highlight on the OGKN calendar, was hosted this year for the first time since 2019 due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

Sensei Bakkies and Sensei Rowan during the Black Belt session at the beautiful Shinto Dojo in Ludwigsdorf.

The event took place over two days and was attended by a more than 95 students, ranging from Yellow Belts all the way up to 5th Dan and higher levels.
