OGKN represents at UFAK African Karate Championships

Okinawan Goju-Ryu Karate Namibia’s very own Sensei Stefan van der Merwe and Sempai Justin Scholtz recently represented Namibia at the UFAK African Cadet, Junior and Senior Karate Championships in Casablanca, Morocco.

Sensei Stefan headed the delegation as the Head Coach for Karate Namibia and whilst on tour successfully completed his UFAK kata and kumite coach certifications, making him the youngest UFAK certified karate coach in the country.

The highlight of the event was when Namibia’s Merziaan Mouton won silver in the finals of the Junior Female Kata division, which secured Namibia’s 10th place overall finish out of 24 participating Nations.
